Cronin developed a love for music early on, and studied classical piano at age ten. At thirteen, he taught himself to play the guitar and started writing songs. After high school he started his first band with Curt Piar and was playing originals around Southern California, and performed at many famous clubs in Hollywood.
When he was nineteen they released their first self-produced single on cable radio, and it became a local sensation. Soon his band was playing sold out shows at The Troubadour, Wolf and Rissmiller's Country Club, Gazzarri's, and The Whiskey-A-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip, to name just a few.
He attended college at California State University at Northridge and studied Art History, Foreign Languages, Art History, and worked on music videos with fellow students.
After two years of college he began to play music as a full time profession and hasn't looked back.
He's traveled extensively through Europe, and has performed in Paris, Lourdes, Rome, Assisi, Florence, Venice, Cologne, Heidelberg, Bruges, Amsterdam, Dubrovnik, Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Vienna and Salzburg.
In 1992, he and longtime friend and band mate Curt Piar bought a recording studio, and sparked a decade of recordings and C.D. releases with their band 'Katja's Dream" and later, 'The Psychedelic Guru's".
Cronin has opened shows for many famous bands and performers, and most recently opened for Los Lobos in Aberdeen WA on August 7th 2015. He’s also been featured on KINK FM, including live performances on the KINK Morning Show, The Skype Live Lounge, the KINK Portland Local Musicians CD, and KBOO FM in Portland Oregon,
Cronin Tierney’s latest venture into the Portland Scene has included several gigs at the Shamrock Run 2016, with 35 thousand people in attendance at Waterfront Park, The Alhambra Theater, The International Pop Overthrow Festival, Thirsty Lion Club, The Tiger Bar, and various wineries in the Willamette Valley.
Cronin now lives in Portland Oregon.
